What Specifications Should You Check While Buying A LED?

Watching TV is one of our favorite ways to pass our free time. Therefore, when buying one, you need to ensure that it will offer the best experience and enable you to enjoy your show without straining or hurting your eyes.

If you do not know what you are looking for, it will be tough for you to get the best-LED TV. Here are four essential characteristics you should check during your search.

1. Screen Size

To choose the best LED TV, keep the screen size in mind. It is one of the most critical specifications. There are different screen sizes in the market, ranging from 32-inch to 65-inch LED TVs. When choosing the size of the screen, consider the following factors:

Number of people who will watch it together

The size should allow everyone in the room to view the program on your 65UN7300PTC TV without straining their eyes or neck.

The space where you position the TV

It makes little sense to buy something too big for the space where you intend to place it. Therefore, it is vital to measure the size of the room to ensure your TV will fit into it well.

Size of the room

It determines the distance from where you will be sitting to the TV screen. You should never sit very close to the screen as it may cause eye damage. The distance from your sitting position to the TV should be at least two times the screen size.

The minimum distance from a 32-inch TV should be 4 feet. For a 40-inch and 48-inch TV, make the length 7 feet. If you desire a TV of 55-inch and above, ensure you have enough space to sit over 9 feet from the TV.

You should, therefore, choose a TV with a screen size corresponding to the size of your room.

Price of the TV

Always go for a size that you can comfortably afford without straining your finances.

2. Screen Resolution

A device’s screen resolution determines the sharpness of pictures and its ability to discern more delicate details. With higher resolutions, images are sharper and more detailed. Choose between an HD, 4K, or 8K TV.

Although there are TVs with a lower resolution than the full HD (1980 x 1080) TVs, we do not recommend you to go for those. The full HD enables you to view the details of the picture but does not give you the best resolution.

Most TV companies are adopting the 4K (ultra HD) resolution. If you plan to buy a TV for your living room, it would be best to purchase one with 4K resolution as it displays high-quality pictures.

You can also opt for HDR, an upgrade feature of 4K, meaning a high dynamic range. HDR TVs have more colors, more contrast, and higher brightness.

The 8K has a higher resolution of about four times that of the 4K TVs, but it is not easy to find content made for this type of resolution. Therefore, do not be in a hurry to buy an 8K resolution TV.

3. Consider Its Refresh Rate

Refresh rate refers to the number of times a picture on the screen refreshes per second. In most cases, 60Hz is the standard rate, but this rate would not be suitable for scenes where objects are rapidly moving. The picture will appear jittery or distorted.

The best refresh rate is 120Hz, showing smooth pictures, enabling you to see more details.

There are various ways in which TV models handle refresh rates. For example, some insert black images between original pictures, making the images seem less blurry and more solid. Another technique is to generate and insert new images to make them look like actual pictures in motion.

4. Connectivity Options

You may also want to get a TV with many connectivity functions like HDMI and USB ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, and AV ports. You may also want one that has Bluetooth connectivity.

A great TV should have at least 4 HDMI ports to allow you to plug in more gadgets, like a gaming console and soundbar, concurrently. Also, ensure that your 4K Ultra HD has a port that supports HDMI 2 so that it can accommodate all its features.

Another feature to check out is if the TV is compatible with high-bandwidth digital content protection (HDCP).

Also, get a TV with high-quality HDMI cables to ensure that you maintain the quality of pictures displayed.

Getting a TV with Bluetooth connectivity is an added advantage, as you can connect your headphones to it and listen to music when you are in another part of the house.
